Trip over love, you can get up. Fall in love and you fall forever. ~Author Unknown

On October 1, 2011 I had the honour of not only being ‘The Best Man’ at a very special wedding in Edmonton, Alberta but also of performing 2 songs at the wedding reception. I had arranged a traditional song from the Philippines called ‘Bayan Ko’ as an instrumental, which was performed during the cake cutting ceremony, as part of a wedding present for the Bride. The second song ‘(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You’ was played for the couple’s first dance. Click the link to check out my version of this song, or you can also visit our webpages ‘VIDEO’ tab. To my best friend and his beautiful bride, once again CONGRATULATIONS!

“For Love and Profit? Developing an Online Music Business in Canada”

On Sep 30, 2011 Melodic Twilight Co-owner (Cora Pettipas), was asked to present our research paper “For Love and Profit? Developing an Online Music Business in Canada”, at the 2011 CCSBE Annual Conference (The Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship), which took place in Windsor, Ontario.  When we were setting up our music business, we were frustrated with the lack of resources about business development practices for independent artists just starting. The goal of this article is to contribute to a pragmatic knowledge of building a Canadian small business for an independent music artist who does not know where to start. THIS will be a great place for any Canadian Indie artist to start. Keep an eye out as we will be publishing it on our website in the near future.

‘Concert from the Couch’

One of the concepts we have been striving for is to bring a virtual concert from our living room to yours. Although all of my YouTube performances can be viewed individually on our ‘video’ page, below is a link which runs our 10 instrumental pieces simultaneously as 1 continuous performance. Much like the album itself, it is great accompaniment for a glass of wine after a stressful day at work, as background music during dinner, or for however you choose to relax, during the MelodicTwilight.

Simply click on the link below & hit the ‘Play All’ button.

‘HouseAgeddon’

Garth Turner will be in Calgary on Oct 21, 2010 to share his views on the current housing crises. And much like the band that played while the Titanic was sinking, Scott will be there to help take the edge off. Ok that’s the bartender’s job, but Scott will also be there playing music.

Remember folks the sky isn’t falling…………….just housing prices. Check out Garth’s unique combination of financial analysis and sarcastic wit, on his daily blog at http://www.greaterfool.ca/
